I need more serious goals, though... 7 months ago

I need to set some more serious and precise goals than just “build more muscle”, but this far I haven’t even done that. I need to figure what I want to do and how, if I can afford to join a gym or if I’d be better off just working out at home (that would save time, too)... And exactly what I want to achieve with this. So much to think about! But I think I’m finally taking this thing in my own hands.

Ok, this becomes a real goal today... 14 months ago

Sept. 1, Labor Day, and the day after my ex-fiancee’s birthday. Wish it was not 90+ degrees though.

I’ve only been lifting weights for about 2 and a half weeks and I’m already getting comments from people who are noticing that I look different (which isn’t hard since I had basically NO muscle), even if they can’t tell that it’s because I’m bulking up. I definitely already feel great about myself.

    gettin there 2 years ago

Well, my arms & shoulders are looking good. I have been slowly adding legs to my routine. i am doing some pushups now to work my chest and new ab exercises also. i am a total gym phobe so i do all my stuff at home. i recently bought a chin up bar. Not so good at the chin ups but hopefully one day i can do more than 1.

Pull, breathe in, push, breathe out. 2 years ago

    Yay!

    Well 2 years ago

Since I posted this goal, I’ve been going to the gym four-five times a week, doing a combination of weights, cardio and yoga. I’ve come to associate working-out with good feelings (almost to a fault), and I’m happy I’ve made this a part of my every day life. These days, I dream about rock climbing (touchstone) and cycling up Grizzly Peak (why is cycling gear so expensive?? $250 for shoes without cleats???)

So yeah. I’ve got muscle. I think this goal is acheived!

I’ve come pretty far since I’ve been going to the gym reguarly over the last year. Now that I know more about weight training and what kindds of my things my body can handle and is learning to handle, I’m feeling quite solid, figuratively and literally :)

One of the best parts is that my Patella Femural Dysfunction has almost completely disappeared, all from a couple lifts and presses!

think its working 3 years ago

i weigh about 150 (again) but i measured my waist and i think it is an inch smaller than it was the last time i weighed 150.

    ow! 3 years ago

well i worked out Sunday. I did my full routine, and i was pretty sore on monday. Its amazing how little time it takes to start getting out of shape. I worked out again today but only made it a little more than half way through. I’m pretty confident that I should be able to do the whole routine thurs.

slackin a bit.... 3 years ago

I just went on a ten day vacation so i havent lifted any weights for about 2 weeks (things were a little hectic before i left in preperation for christmas & my trip) I just got back 2 days ago and had to go to the urgent care yesterday for my asthma. I really wanted to lift today, but the doctor said the medications i am on can actually decrease my immune system. I also only got about 2 hrs of sleep last night, (also a side effect of the meds) so i think it’s probably in my best intrest 2 wait at least 4-5 more days because i will be on breathing treatments for the next 10. I don’t want to get bronchitis cause then i could be down for a month. I actually miss lifting though and i don’t want to lose that motivation. Damn this asthma!
