Not just lip service but a reality 2 years ago

One of the things that most disillusioned me about starting work is how little employers seem to value the human capital of their businesses…For the last two years I was repeatedly struck by how employers seem to believe that their staff can be exploited with no long term damage to the firm…The thing is that loyalty cannot be bought, it flows from feeling valued, appreciated and from receiving respect and due financial reward…

I have always wanted to have my own law firm (or come to think of it, my own business) where every single employee feels like they belong, where every single person is happy and excited to come to work at least most of the time…where everybody supports everyone else in becoming the best they can within their designated role, and if they grow beyond that, to allow them to…Can you imagine what it would be like to work for a firm like that? Where everyone is employed because they are passionate about what they do about where they are going and about achieving their goals? Where they are recognised, appreciated, rewarded, thanked for going the extra mile? Where they are listened to and their suggestions considered and actually implemented?
That is the firm I will have one day.
