Complete NaNoWriMo in November 2005

Tried to find people interested in working on a collaborative nanowrimo wiki, each starting their story and seeing if anyone wanted to interwingle or let happen what happens. I think it would be pretty cool.

Well I got off to a bad start and so went all the rest of the month. Couldn’t drag myself back from being behind on word count so I didn’t make it this year. Again.

I’m not giving up though. Next year I’m not going to do it by the seat of my pants so much. I’m going to do some planning and some outling and have more of an idea what the novel is going to be about.

I will do it!

My novel is complete. It isn’t as long as I want it to be, but at least I finished it up in 50k. I can always go back and lenghten it when I start editing it. I’m just happy I made it. I was doing really good early on in the month, but then I got writer’s block and didn’t write anything for two weeks. Finally I managed to write 5,500k this afternoon to finish. Hooray!!!

I DID IT!! As of 9:18 PM EST yesterday (since it’s after midnight here), November 25, 2005, I finished my 2005 NaNoWriMo novel!!

I am so excited and happy, I was at 41,000 words two days ago, got my word count up to 44,000 yesterday, and then I started writing today. I. Could. Not. Stop.

Now it’s time for a break before much editing and self publishing!!

Nyah, f$#& YES!!

Well I’ve written a bunch of really bad dialogue and I’m mad at myself, because a lot of it is total crap and I can’ t seem to stay in first person, I keep switching to third, but I’ve written 12,000 plus words in three days, so I think unless I get extreme writer’s block that I will probably achieve this goal! Hooray!!

I have been spending a good deal of time posting in the mystery forums on NaNoWriMo’s website. Looks like several people are trying to write a cozy mystery, too. Hopefully we will be able to encourage each other when writer’s block kicks in!

What is everyone writing about this year???

I decided if I was actually going to write a long enough novel this year, I would have to have to outline my thoughts in advance. I set up a cool wiki, so I wouldn’t get bored outlining and it has actually worked great so far.

Since I’m writing a mystery novel, it is all in the details. I have already decided the method of murder and I can’t wait for November 1st to put it on paper. I only hope it is as good on paper as it is in my mind.

I just signed up and I’m in the process of making an outline. I really do plan on completing this challenge.

I’ve started the Nanowrimo challenge two years in a row now but never finished it. This year I’m gonna do it!
