Well, I am doing couch to 5k, so I am only on week 4. 5K still seems a bit intimidating, as I’m basically doing 15 minute miles (running and walking). I guess the main thing is that I finish.
I’m hoping it won’t quite take 45+ mins though…
Almost every day I complete a full 2 miles though (3k)- I can feel my cardio and body’s tolerance building up.

Well, its official, I am booked to run one at the end of October. I can’t wait! I can’t run a straight 5k yet.. but I can do just over 3. With enough training I should be ok. I’m improving every day.
I am just focusing on finishing the race, not winning.

My wife ran her first 5K after having discovered she liked running two weeks previous. I have run for years and only ever encouraged her through example. I am so proud. Just go out there and put one foot in front of the other. If you wait to be “in shape” to do it, it will never happen. We all start somewhere.

I am putting myself through a training program so that I can join in with a friend and run a 5km fun run in september. So far so good!

I’ll be running the 5K Corporate Challenge in T minus 2 hours. Wish me luck.
Okay next day, I did it! It was actually not that bad. I ran thru the entire 3.5 miles without stopping and came in at 40.57. Three Cheers for me!

I had always wanted to get into running races for the last 10 years. Small races and eventually ultramarathons-this year I came to the realization that I should quit procrastinating and do at least a 5K.
I finally did and managed to do it in 32 mins! I loved it!
Next on my list is a 10K!

is feeling relaxed and mellow...
I ran a 5k on Sunday and I loved it!
I am so glad I trained for it and did it!
I did have to stop twice for a one minute walk break (which I’m not thrilled about) but I did make it through the first 3k with no breaks at all.
My finishing time was 32:06 which is not too shabby for a first race, I suppose.
My goal for the next race is to not stop at all and to come in under 32 minutes, which shouldn’t be hard if I don’t stop running. I’m going to make sure to stretch more too so that my hip flexors don’t hurt as much.
My family was cheering along the home stretch—it was so great!
I can’t wait to do it again.
Yeah for me!!! :)
