Help my Mother get to Greece, at least for a vacation (and to live, if that's what she still wants, later on.)

Because my Mother thinks that she’s never going to get there; so the rest of us are going to have to figure out a way to make it happen. Despite the growing list of goals in my “give up” list, I don’t really give up that easily…

I thought about adding this goal in early March of last year, when I was still feeling gung-ho about life. My Mother has always wanted to go to Greece – before we moved back to the States, I remember her telling a woman that she would love to move there.

Last March, I asked Mum to get some brochures, or whatever information she needed on flying to Greece… her whole body slumped as I looked at her – I don’t think that she even realized it, but her whole look communicated that it would never happen. My parents have never had a proper honeymoon – either time that they were married – and I don’t think that my Mother has ever had a real vacation. Over the years, Mum has heard about the vacations other family members have taken, and looked at their pictures… I want this for her.

One of my English cousins now has a house built over there, and she has offered the use of the house to anyone who would like to stay there, so that’s one thing taken care of. We just need the money for plane tickets, and to physically get her there.
