Helping out at one of the local animal shelters actually started out as my volunteering more goal. I didn’t really have enough time to commit to more than a few hours a week, so I wouldn’t have been much help the animals. However I did have a lawn mowing service and they had a huge lot with just a push mower. So I ended up mowing their yard each week for the summer. It was rewarding because it meant the older women that ran the shelter didn’t have to be out in the heat. And I still got to play with the animals when I was done. 4 years ago
