weallareoneI have 3 websites...

2 of which are Live & functional, the 3rd I havne’t really invested much time in, and don’t use.

It really is time I marked this goal as complete.

Yes I’d like to create a bigger better, all singing all dancing website. But the fact is I set the goal to have a live & functioning one- and I have two of those- when is that going to be good enough for me?

Now :) 3 years ago

weallareoneDid some work tonight on my other websites

http://www.lifematters.ie

I seem to be having difficulty gettin the colours of the logo showing appropriately, need to spend more time fiddling with things to get that bit right!

Progress is being made… need to post testimonials next, and details of the courses also! 4 years ago

weallareonemore additions to website...

I’ve now got a draft booking page with a paypal button for the “What’s YOUR Strategy?” workshop I’m running on the 4th April.

i’m soo excited!!

I’m really proud of myself on this project, it took a while to get the ball rolling but now its really really taking shape.

I’ve changed the template to a better one so it looks tidier and more professional.

I’ve also written 4 blogs in the last week which I’m really proud of!

I could mark this goal as finished but I have 2 more websites to get up to http://www.managementmatters.ie standard, the other 2 have the basics there but it will take a few weeks to get them up to standard also! I need to take some time and redo the logo I have at the right resolution and shape for those websites as well as write the copy for them.

I am so happy and grateful to be able to achieve this!! 4 years ago

weallareoneI now have my very own favicon :)

showing on top of the browser to all my visitors of my website!

http://www.managementmatters.ie
I’m so proud of myself :)

& I’ve got my paypal button orgnanised so people can book my courses online woooo hoooo!! 4 years ago

weallareoneFinally I now know HOW to use PHOTOSHOP!

to edit my logo and get it onto my website

Wooooo Hooooo!! I’m so excited!! I was less than happy not having my logo on their properly, and now it looks a lot better.
i’ve also found a new template which is similar but smarter so I’ve updated that, and written a new blog entry also.

Check it out and please do give me feedback, good and bad, all is gratefully received :)

weallareoneMy recent blog on www.managementmatters.ie

Have you set your business goals/targets for 2009?

Do you know what you really want to achieve in your business in 2009?

Do you know what you want in your life in 2009?

Last night I delivered a goal setting seminar for the Fingal Women In Business Network and only half of the business women there had set goals for 2009. If you set out on a journey and didn’t know where you were going how could you possibly arrive where you wanted to go?

Setting goals is an essential tool for business owners, and it’s also a must have tool if you want to live a fulfilling life.

My goal setting seminar started at the basics, you have to get to know and understand what you want, what you really really want. NOT what you think other people want of you. Not what your parents expect of you, not what your partner wants from you.

If you try to please others what happens is that 9 times out of 10 you’ll disappoint the other person anyway, and even if you don’t you’ll be miserable in the process because you’re neglecting your own needs. I call this a loose loose situation.

If you identify what you want and work towards achieving it you’ll feel more fulfilled, happier, more relaxed, and generally more fun to be around which has a huge positive effect on everyone around you, colleagues, employees, suppliers, family, friends. This is what I call a true Win-Win situation.

What way do you want to play your life?

Win- Win

or

Lose Lose

?

Now is time to set the goals that you want, the things you want to do/have/achieve, give yourself permission to dream big and you’ll carry the people around you along for an enjoyable ride too! 4 years ago

weallareoneGrrrr!! Pesky blacknight haven't transferred my domain names yet!!

we’ve been chasing why all week and now the domain registry have informed us that they’re waiting for a payment from blacknight but I made a payment to them over a week ago and they haven’t transferred the money grrrrrrrrr!!!!! 4 years ago

weallareoneONe dwon, 2 to go!!

I finally have www.managementmatters.ie set up, it’s pretty damn good considering it was all for free!! And I did it all myself, which I’m quite proud of. There’s lots to improve upon, everytime I go onto it I change it a bit more :)
lifematters then employmentmatters are next and they’re almost sorted with the domain transfer, so hopefully only a week or two till they’re done too!!

I won’t mark this goal as completed until all 3 are done and dusted though! 4 years ago

weallareoneI've written a few blogs on my website now....

and a new one tonight, if anyone’s reading this have a look and let me know what you think, i’d really appreciate feedback.

Thanking you already :-)

weallareonemore updates on website...

I’ve updated it a bit more, it’s not exactly as I want it but I was talking to software developers last week and they may be people who have the skills or know the people who can actually deliver what I want.
I’ve started a temporary site for www.lifematters.ie on jimdo too, so that at least I have something to show my clients/prospective clients.

www.managementmatters.jimdo.com 4 years ago

weallareoneI've updated my website a bit more,

and I’ve included a blog too!! Please check it out and let me know what you think

http://managementmatters.jimdo.com/

i think I’ll upgrade using Jimdo and get my own domain name, this seems to be far more effective than getting website designers to do the work, and a lot cheaper!! 4 years ago

weallareoneI think I have

completed this goal, as it is worded

http://managementmatters.jimdo.com/

however, it’s a temporary solution until I get the proper version up and running.

Feedback welcome :-) 4 years ago

weallareoneok so now I have 2 guys working on my website!!

the old one finally got back to me yesterday, with a completed draft of a homepage, which does not look like the draft I gave him in word. It would be great if he was doing it for someone how didn’t have a clue how they wanted their website to look, but I DO! And I provided a really CLEAR DRAFT which I expected their version to look something like!! The layout is the same, the text is the same, apart from that the look and feel is completely different ARGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! and this is after my specific request to TALK to the person designing it so that they’d know what I want was ignored!!

the new website guy gave me a quote, with a breakdown for pricing which he’s prepared to negotiate further on. I feel I am able to have a good working relationship with this guy.

So now I need to tell the old guy, not only am I unhappy with the delay, he has apologised for this, but I’m completely disssatisfied with the draft he’s come up with and I’m going to go with the other guy…. mmmm….

ARGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

I’m learning to manage my suppliers a lot better, be clearer and more assertive about what I want!!! 4 years ago

weallareonewebsite- new guy hasn't gotten back to me!!

arggghhhhhhh!! will ring him today!! 4 years ago

weallareoneWebsite Meeting 15-08-08

went well, I even cheekily told him I had no money and asked him what’s the best deal/structure of paying he can give me!! He’s getting back to me :-D

I feel fairly confident that I’ll have a website functioning within 4 weeks, and all 3 of them up in 2-3 months.

I probably should set in schedules to get this work done to make sure that’s achievable!!

I’m still completing the diploma in coaching to officially qualify me for the skills I already have, and I am starting my final year of my degree this year too GULP!! I’m a little nervous about having the time to get everything completed, and be able to bring in the money too. 4 years ago

weallareoneI have a meeting scheduled with a new website guy!

Woooooooohoooooooooo!!!

And this one was very helpful, really seemed to know what he was talking about and gave the impression of actually wanting to give me what I want!

And he complimented me on the phone and told me I seemed like a really nice person and would be nice working with me :-) 4 years ago

weallareoneI sent the website guy an email,

I’m waiting for a response.

I read an article about websites, and it had one very interesting piece of information, and this is the key to what I struggle with:

What is My MOST WANTED RESPONSE from the website? I have so many potential clients, for so many reasons I find it difficult to hone it down, to be inclusive without being vague. Now I have this question I’ll re-edit what I’ve got, with my most wanted response in mind.

What is my MOST WANTED RESPONSE?
Somebody picks up the phone to talk about life coaching and after an initial chat books an appointment. AND the other MOST WANTED RESPONSE is that people see the amazing wonderful courses I have on offer and book and order them online. 4 years ago

weallareonemore feedback...

for my website, I just havne’t been able to allocate time to implementing these things yet!

I will ring David up and ask him what’s happneing. I need to keep on top of this! 4 years ago

weallareoneWebsite 4/-07/08

I received some feedback from a friend, I havent’ had chance to read it yet but I’m sure when I do it will be very useful :-)

I am now determined to get these websites done and dusted. Not having them done is costing me money!! 4 years ago

weallareoneProgress on website...

I’ve sent out written material to a few people and received feedback.

Please please please if anyone has any comments about what I posted about what is life coaching please let me know. Does it read ok? Does it make sense? Would it inspire you to find out more? 4 years ago

weallareoneWhat is Life Coaching?

What is Life Coaching?

Most people know what a sport coach is, but what does a sports coach do? They support athlete’s achieve their full potential. They do this by knowing the particular sport and having excellent skills in identifying the athlete’s strengths and weaknesses then they provide the athlete with specific exercises to strengthen their skills. So how does a life coach work? In exactly the same way, Life coaches are experts in personal development and are trained to support clients identifying their strengths and weaknesses and provide clients with the tools to strengthen their overall performance. Below is described in more detail what happens in coaching:

Listening
Good coaches support their clients through really listening, without judgement or predefined idea’s of what is right for the client, our coaches have a genuine curiosity and enjoy supporting the client to explore their own needs rather than the needs of the clients loved one’s or colleagues. That’s not to say what the people around us don’t have a bearing on what we might choose to do with our lives, but in order to really help a client a coach needs to support the client in finding his/her dreams, not those of other people!
Often clients develop idea’s and solutions extremely quickly when being actively listened to, their thoughts and ideas are being supported, they are not being interrupted or criticised so it gives the client freedom to explore all possible options.

Developing Self Awareness
Good coaches ask key questions to enable the client to deepen self awareness and self empowerment. The coach will help the client bring to the fore his/her own wisdom and inspiration as well as helping identify strengths and weaknesses as a precursor to developing a successful strategy. Self awareness is a core component of Emotional Intelligence, widely regarded as a key indicator to likely success in work, life and play!

Accountability
Good coaches provide accountability; the client decides what action they will take, and the time the client will complete these action steps. On the completion date the coach simply asks them what the results are of the action plan. Knowing that your coach is going to ask you what progress you’ve made can be a great motivator in itself!
Success first time is not necessarily the key to growth and achievement. Not having a goal completed by the completion date is a great opportunity for the client to learn and the coach facilitates the learning, by again asking key questions to find out: Was it a realistic goal? Was it really what the client wanted to do, or just what they felt they “should” do? Is this goal still something the client wants to achieve? Does the client need to develop their time management/delegation/assertiveness skills? There are many different causes of not achieving goals, when working with a coach you will be able to identify those causes which hold you back, and to develop successful strategies and skills to achieve their goals!

Coaching Tools
The coach also uses a variety of tools to facilitate the clients personal growth, including assessments of how satisfied the client is with his/her life. When starting out on a journey it is vital to know where you are now before you can begin to plan your route. For example travelling to Dublin when you’re in Dubai is a completely different prospect than travelling from Cork to Dublin, despite the destination being the same. Usually a first session will include the Wheel of Life in which the client assessing his/her own satisfaction in various areas of their lives, this is a snapshot of where the client is at now, ie where they are travelling from.

How Long Does a Session take?
Life Matters coaches are unique in that each session can last for up to one and a half hours. Why? Quite simply through experience we’ve learned it can take a little time to get warmed up and settled into the session, and we don’t believe in interrupting our clients when they’ve only just started some very useful work. 4 years ago

weallareoneI've been looking at the wording I have for my home page...

and I’ve just changed it, and started wording “What is Life Coaching”

I’ll probably post it on here and invite feedback, it’d be nice to know if what I’ve written makes sense to somebody! 4 years ago

weallareoneMy Website desinger got back to me today

I missed his call, but on the voice mail he said he’d been on holidays for 3 weeks and was sick when he got back and was only getting back to work. A valid reason.
He did say he was working on what I asked him to do, which does make me feel much better :-)

I still need to do some work on the drafts of the pages I need to forward to him. 4 years ago

weallareoneI just looked through my sent emails

and it was the end of May I sent my draft to my website designer and I haven’t heard a peep back from him….

time to suggest to him if he’s too busy I can take my business elsewhere methinks… 4 years ago

weallareoneI've gotten some feedback on the home page

and I’ve sent it to my website designer, someone at a networking event asked me was I w3 compliant because google were no longer registering sites that weren’t. I have no idea what this is so I must ask my website guy if I will be!

Also I met a great business contact where we could do reciprocal links for our websites, she has an online cv writing template. Although my service is different it may be useful to some clients. I go through the client’s cv step by step with them and at the end of the process they realise themselves their own strengths and weaknesses and are better equiped to understand how to market themselves during the whole recruitment process, and in employment too. 4 years ago

weallareoneI have a block on bringing in money with my business...

and it’s because I don’t have a decent website live right now, it’s a vital selling tool which I don’t feel confident without :-(

So please give me one valid reason why i shouldn’t complete this website asap???

because then people will be able to judge me and they might think I’m crap.

and????

I might make a mistake in the website design…

and???

it might not be as good as I know I can create…

and???

I’ll be open to criticism…

and???

People will be contacting me for my services and i might not be able to keep up with the demand!

and???

people might realise I don’t have a specic qualification in coaching, only in Human Resource Management

and?????

my dream will come true…
and???

then I’ll be responsible for creating my dream…

and??

creating / realising my dream is scarey

and/??

i might not be good enough to sustain my dream of a business dedicated to supporting people being healthy, happy and wealthy

and????

I won’t have a 100% positive impact on every single person/ client/ supplier that I come into contact with

and???
I’ll be less than perfect

and????
people might not like what I do

and????

I’ll be in my own power

and/??

I’m scared of my own light/power

and???

who am I to be afraid of my own light??? 5 years ago

weallareoneI was helping a coaching friend today

by helping him impliment some excellent knowledge he’d gained in a recent training, helped him define specific actions he is going to do and arranged a telephone coaching session next week to see how he got on.

So he offered similar exchange, i decided the most important thing for me was to get my website completely sent to the website designer by weds the 21st May :-D

deadlines deadlines…. :-D 5 years ago
