I have found a group to run with. I’ll try to start tomorrow. The challenge is getting up around 6am to join the group.
How to run 10km
How I did it: I kept trying. I didn't give up! I talked to other runners especially experienced runners because they gave great advice. With time, however, you learn what works for you. I also combined the 10km race with a little
R&R (aka. shopping trip) to reward myself afterwards!
Resources: Talk to experienced runners! They can be a great resource!

I’ve just contacted a group that practices near my house. I think having proper orientation will surely make this goal easier to meet.

I’ve never been able to do this because I was never physically fit. I’ve made many changes this past year and ran my first 5km run this fall. I hope to do a 10km run this summer.
The time is approaching – am going to attempt this on the Gold Coast early July, whilst my fiance does the marathon. I don’ think I will be able to run the whole thing without stopping to walk, but my aim is to finish it before the street sweepers come along
Still haven’t run 10 km. But I did do a 8.5 km run with pretty much no training. Been going on small runs recently but just don’t seem to have the will power. It is also difficult now that I am working…time hard to come by. I think I might have to try going for runs during my lunch time??
Ok I didn’t move on this item since a lonnnnnnng time, so I had to put a challenge that I don’t want to happen !
I started last week by walking fairly long distance, and playing tennis 4hours a week, this should help me getting in better shape.
I have to mention that I’ve never been as fat as currently (nothing dramatic), so this is quite a challenge.
I ran 4km the other day, in 25 minutes. I need to be doing 4km instead of 3km each session.
Today I ran just over 3km in under 20 minutes. Now I’m running at 9.5km an hour (instead of the 9km an hour that I used to do), which I realise is quite slow, but hey. It’s harder when you’re short!
And then I got a blissful hour-long massage. I couldn’t stop smiling for an hour! When I can run 5km, I’ll get another one. It will be good incentive – 1 massage every time I can run another kilometre.
just did it I and it was great ok 1 hour and 13mins mabey not a record but none the less I completed it and didn’t kill myself. Now I am thinking that doubling that distance with a half marathon won’t be that bad so training for that begins Ill have to look into the next one in my area.
Ok so I’ve got the 5k down in about 31 minutes – not really pushing it a lesiurely pace, so I think I am going to attempt the 10k next weekend I want to get some of these things off my list and also the 10k is another step towards completing a half marathon and a marathon.
I really want to do this as I dont think I can come up with a good enough reason as to why I can do it.
Ok, so now I have sent in my entry form for a race in less than a months time (AGH!). I will have to really pick up the training now!
Ok, so I did my 10km run last weekend, I didnt run all of it but I did do a fair bit as I ran it in 1hr 10mins. I am very proud and tempted to do another one.
