How I did it: -Saved up a deposit
-Went to my long term bank
-Made friends with the person who agrees the loan
-Took their advise about increasing my credit rating and opening new accounts
-Found the cheapest place on the market in a really nice area close to my family home
-Made an offer, negotiated a a huge discount and deal
-Got it!
Lessons & tips: Be aware of ALL hidden costs by the bank and especially the solicitors. They will add £1000s to what you believe is the final amount. But save up, and have some breathing room money.
