ive been asked by the lesbian community in cork, ireland to start up and conduct their choir. i have played with youth orchestras and studied theatre and music in college but i am apprehensive. of course im very confident and know i can do a good job but i also know i need help, advice. i am currently on the look out for basic 2-part harmony pieces which i can use. i’d also appreciate any advice…

I’m in high school, and I’m a girl-friend of a student choir conductor (he conducts the higher choir). I’m going to be the lead-student choir conductor next year. I was able to conduct the choir in few occasions but it’s wonderful. having your peers sing for you, the way you want it, you in control, and leading them to a better, fuller sound. (conduct around 45 people, SATB, high school level… and my peers are very talented!). Eveyone should try conducting a choir!
...conducting a Lutheran Church choir. It’s been really intense and overwhelming, but I think I’ve made a difference. Hopefully next year will be easier.
I teach middle school choir – there’s no feeling like helping kids sing together – it’s a place where they can be successful, even if they’re not so good at other stuff in school. Please try!!!
I conduct a small church choir. It’s very rewarding when the music comes together and the dynamics are just right and… well, it’s just lovely! Do it!
