How to do not buy any candy for a whole year by Lynoure

"Easier than I thought."

How I did it: First one day at the time. Just not buying. Remember that you can still ask for candy, and eat if offered, just not buy.
It got easier soon, and the last handful of months were really easy.

Lessons & tips: Do count the days you've done fine with, at first.
Do not give up if you fail sometimes (though I did not, I'm very happy with that).

Less than 4 months but a difficult event ahead 5 months ago

I’m going to have my birthday. Traditionally, whenever I actually get to celebrating it, I’ll also make a bottle of salmiakki booze to offer at the party. This time, I cannot buy the salmiakki, and that’s about 1/3 of the whole drink.

And while I was writing this, Richard offered to help. How nice!

Difficult but not an unhappy process 13 months ago

So far pretty good, though I sometimes do get urges to buy candy. My darling R bought a bag of candy for ‘himself’ and has so far given me 10 pieces of candy. It helps to keep the buying urge in control and the candy consumption in reasonable range.

It’s a weird arrangement, but it works. :)
