a great time it was. It was so good to see my brother and 2 sisters, but especially Mom & Dad. It was difficult to leave because my time there was so short.
They were super happy to have us all there together, though. They’ll never forget it. Nor will we.

and I’ll be back in my home town to celebrate Mom & Dad’s anniversary. When I was growing up there I thought of the place as the armpit of America, but with all this time that has gone by, it’s still a hole in the ground, but I feel relaxed and at ease when I’m there. It’s a bit of a sanctuary and I’m glad I can still go back there whenever. We moved to this town (Okanogan) when I was 8, so I have A LOT of memories there.
I doubt I’ll have the chance to see any old school friends, but just the time with my folks and siblings will be great. Can’t wait!

to do the speech at the anniversary. I think I’ll be talking about each of my sibling’s special memories of Mom & Dad and then talking about what they did over the years to make home as special as it was. I’m nervous about it, but I hope I can do a good job and make Mom & Dad feel good about all they’ve done for the family.

it’s a get-together of family and friends at their church, family photos, and then a trip to Lake Chelan for a trip on The Lady of the Lake. I think things are really coming together.
And I finally secured my way out there. I’ll need to call in to work on Monday, but this is about family. I hardly ever see them.

to fly out to Washington in July. Fuel prices are really throwing a wrench into the budget of it, however.
Mom & Dad were married in Carson City, Nevada on May 14th, 1958. They were a very young couple, but they’ve managed to make it a half century. Amazing feat in the age of cut and run. I’m proud of them. AND they love each other more than ever.
I love them dearly.
