Send a message in a bottle

When you send out a message in a bottle, there are 3 components. The bottle, the content, and the delivery.

The Bottle – The bottle should have something distinctive about it. This is so when it does land somewhere, people will be attracted to it. It might be the color of the glass, it’s shape, or it’s size. One thing it can’t be is the label, as the label will come off after being in the water for a length of time. Also, remember to use a glass bottle, as a plastic bottle will degrade over time and your message will be lost

The Content – I’m not sure what I’m going to write in my message. This is where I’m struggling. A nice handwritten note should be included though. Something I’m planning to do is to include a thumb drive with some pictures and songs that i like. Also, I’ll include a digital copy of the note. If you want people to let you know that they found it, include your email address. use an email address that you’ll have for at least the next 10-20 years – the longer, the better. if you plan to do multiple message in a bottles, write a number in the corner of the page to uniquely identify it.

The Delivery – You need to throw the bottle in the water somewhere with a current. This is a little tough in Seattle, since there isn’t much of a current in the Puget Sound. I need to get out to the pacific ocean. 1 month ago

- send it out (trying to do it in such a way that I won’t be fined) :p
