finish my sister's birthday gift

I just needed to weave in the ends and I finally did that on my day off Tuesday.

Mohair dries really fast! I set out the scarf in the morning and it was dry by the mid-afternoon.

This weekend I went to the graduation for my boyfriend’s sister. I had plenty of time on the roadtrip down and while we were waiting for the commencement to happen, so I got a good ways through my Wisp.

The thing I like about making scarves is that once you get past a certain point, people guess it’s a scarf first, which rarely happens with hats. [I’ve been an inch from finishing a hat and had someone guess that it was a sweater sleeve…] The thing I don’t like about making scarves is that you have to keep doing the same thing for four to seven feet. I’m on repeat number 12 out of 17 and have to finish it off by June 15th, so I feel okay about taking a break from it. I’ve been using Kidsilk Haze and it’s just a beautiful little thing. I wish I enjoyed knitting it more, but the pattern is simple enough that I don’t have to think about it while the yarn is so gossamer that I have to pay attention or I make big mistakes… I think if she likes this one, I’ll definitely make her more of them. It’s really a lovely scarf.

Yesterday I decided what I wanted to make her and I bought some yummy, delicious yarn. I have a long road trip this weekend, so I’m hoping to make some progress on it…
