Schuylerwarren wow.. 2009 went by so fast!!!
Moving out by January.. I already have two roommates lined up as well.
How I did it: I got an apartment with two friends in December 2006. After realizing I hate having to deal with roommates and coming to the conclusion that I absolutely did not make enough money to get my own place, I moved back 20 months later. I started school soon after, though, so it worked out for the best. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I moved back after college because I didn't have anywhere else to go. After nine months, I quit my job and moved seven hours north with a roommate who was also looking to get out of her parents' house. Of course, it took me another six months to find a job, but thankfully I had enough money saved (most of the money I earned working 40 hours a week for nine months) and I was able to supplement it by working a series of temp jobs. How I did it: While I was home I got up everyday at 6am, went running, made breakfast, and sent out resumes until 5pm for 3-4 weeks. When you don't have a job or you're living at home, your JOB is to find a job. Don't sleep in til 12 because inquiring about a job at 3 or 4 in the afternoon isn't going to get you very far. Stay tenacious and just make it happen. Btw, I didn't get great grades in college so it has nothing to do with academics, it's just … Read how I did it…

How I did it: First I looked for an appropriate house....even if you are desperate to move make sure your getting a good deal before you do...i found a house that was in my price range conviniently placed in the same street as my parents lol :P so now i have freedom and space but still get a home cooked meal every now and then and my washing is always clean.Next I found a roommate to share the rent, one thing i've learnt is if your thinking about movin… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I haven't lived with my parents for my entire life... I went away to university 4 hours away from my hometown and lived in Florida for a year, but every time I've come back and lived at home again. Finally, my mother told me (nicely) that I seemed to be miserable and needed to "spread my wings" (so to speak), and very kindly told me I'd need to move out by September 1st, 2009, because she was planning on putting our condo up for ren… Read how I did it…

I have another friend who wants to be roommates..and he seems like he would be an amazing roommate. What makes the situation even sweeter is that he has to be in a new place by January! That works perfectly with the time-frame I set for myself! I love life!!!

... I’m a little ambivalent about leaving home. On the one hand, it feels so limiting, but on the other hand I’m scared of all the things that leaving entails: I’d have to get a car, car insurance, buy all my own food, fix all my own food, I’d have to remember everything on my own. I’m not worried about cleaning up after myself (laundry/dishes/etc), but I’ve ruined two different pans by leaving them on the burners for hours after forgetting about them.
I am extremely forgetful, and being on my own leaves me vulnerable to everything from forgetting appointments to accidentally starting a fire.
So, there’s a couple of things that have been holding me back from moving out:
1. Guilt that I’ll be leaving two elderly people to take care of themselves.
2. Not having a full-time job because I’m still in grad school.
So, I have to get over my guilt and get a full-time job…then I can move out and get a dog. :-)

Okay, I’m officially trying to save up for this (for rent, that is). I don’t have a real steady income, so it may take some time.
yeah, my parents, I think, are ok with me being here. Its all me wanting to get out. I am really independent and its hard to rely on other people so much when I want to stand on my own two feet.
My plan is to move out by December.
Everything seems to be revolved around getting my license.. which wont come until October, but once I get it, my real goal is to move out of my parents’ house. I’m not being childish when I say they’re pushing me out, and they hint at it every day. At nineteen years old, being homeless for almost a year was my way of starting out, until they began to beg me to come home. Save some money. Get my life on track. I’m saving money, on my way to my future, and they’re already trying to push me out. I’m going to start looking for apartments/places to live soon to move into in late October.
