For me this goal was easier to do than most of my other ones. First off get rid of all the stigmatic thinking that going to a movie theater is for groups, couples, or families. Sometimes its a great way to just unwind by yourself. Second, get rid of the notion of thinking that ONLY lonely people and creepers go to a movie alone, none of these are true! Think about it for a second… Why do we go to movies? First we go to see something that we want to see. Second we want to feel emotion or immerse ourselves into another world or life. Third, we go to have fun! Here’s the scoop for you first time loners. Go to a daytime showing when there aren’t a lot of people (mostly its just older folk, and depending on the movie barely anyone in the theater) so you won’t feel to out of place! Second, it really helps being in a place where you can start to get to know yourself again. You won’t have anyone around to judge you if you laugh at something only you find funny, Or if your the type of person that feels obligated to be someone or a type of person around others you can just take it all in! In a way it frees you to really drink in the film, no matter what you are seeing. Remember, let yourself out, take yourself out, enjoy YOU, and just relax. You time is always necessary! Break the stigma and take in a movie alone, even if it’s just once. You can do it! 6 months ago

How I did it: Watching a movie alone was not my plan, but because I found out about the movie screening at the last minute, I really didn't have time to invite anyone so I decided it would be fine to go alone. The movie by the way was great....My review is here http://www.allconsuming.net/item/view/8870540 Read how I did it… 19 months ago

I don’t actually like going to the movies alone because you have to wait in line, wait for the movie to start, and the time goes by faster if you have someone to converse with. But on occasion everyone has seen a particular movie but me or I have a secret agenda to watch 2 movies back to back (yep, sneaking into a 2nd movie) and I’ve gone alone in order to see both movies. My kids have never been interested in doing this with me, they always only want to see one movie then leave!
Anyways, I got tickets for a special screening of the movie “Upside Down” tonight and none of my friends are available to go with me, so the goal will be done in 1 day! 19 months ago

How I did it: I was suposed to meet a friend for a movie. We had already bought tickets and she said to meet her in the theatre. Somehow we missed each other before the movie started. Apparently we were sitting on opposite sides of the theatre and never actually ran into each other until after the movie. Read how I did it… 22 months ago
