make tablet that my granny would be proud of

Well the third attempt (for my niece’s first communion party) wasn’t too lucky but it did get me some tips from Auntie Mo. Namingly ignore the recipes you get on the internet because they are all crap – and it’s true! Following the majority of the recipes out there on the net won’t get you anything like authentic tablet.

The one I found closest to Auntie Mo’s recipe was one on Yahoo answers which I can’t find again but it is now in my head so it’s all good.

Fourth batch was really good even if I do say so myself although it disappeared so quickly I did’t get a chance to take any to Auntie Mo to get her critique so I guess I’ll just have to make another batch…

travesty!!

I’ve only tried making tablet twice and both times have been this year.

The first attempt was rather impressive and had me wondering what all the fuss was about. The second attempt however was nothing short of disasterous so now I’m thinking that the first batch was a complete fluke!!

It is now my mission to be able to make tablet like my Granny and Auntie Maureen would – much to the delight of my guinnea pigs… sorry family and workmates!

Anyone looking for tips I’d recommend this one it’s the one I used both times and is very comprehensive.

Always goes down a storm at bake sales etc (I can confidently say this because it’s usually me there buying it all!) but not too well at the dentists!!
