I want to go to another country. i have never been overseas so it would be an amazing experience
How to travel overseas
How I did it: I took a temporary job in a medical billling office. The job offered a bonus of 60% of your annual salary if you stayed through the transition--approximately 1 year. I toughed it out to earn that money, which I used to pay for my trip and pay off some debt.
Lessons & tips: I researched everything online, from train schedules and fares to hotels, and booked everything in advance so I didn't have to worry about it while I was traveling and enjoying the scenery. I obtained Euro traveler's cheques and foreign currency here and watched the exchange rate to try and get the best deal. Let your credit card company know where you are traveling and when to avoid any hangups. Make sure you have a converter so you can plug things in.

... with 1 year before we travel we might get enough money to go 5 star!

... Clinic may get a small wage increase but they aren’t capping his bonus. If they give him one as great as last year we are in for a fantastic holiday. We will wait and see.
With this trip. Definitely headed to Europe, not sure where else. I am planning on taking a couple of months off next summer (July, August, maybe September 2010) and heading overseas. I just have to save enough and negotiate unpaid leave at work (or look for a new job to come back to).

Starting in England through to France, Switzerland & north of Italy. Which are our first prefrences.

Our travel fund’s balanace is over $5,000. At this rate a trip to Europe in 2010 seems likely.
Now that I’ve finally settled down enough to have furniture and white goods, I want to travel!
It seems to go that you have three choices in life: kids, career or travel…
Granted, some do all three.
I’m taking the travel option. I’m a youth worker by trade, which seems to have broken my clucky button; kids are great providing you can leave them in someone else’s care at the end of the day and go home to a nice glass of wine and some chill out time ;)
So, check and check on kids and career. Efficiency! Now, travel.
Everyone seems to be put off by Europe because it’s expensive. I’ve decided I can’t care about that. It’s where i want to go, so I’ll just have to make it work.
As my first small step, yesterday, I bought an atlas. Along with lots of maps, it has a brief summary of each of the worlds countries so I can start making a short list! Also, it’s small enough to fit in my bag so I can take it with me where ever i go. That means that while i’m traveling on buses and trains, I can plan bigger travels on planes!

.... Clinic is a bit disappointed that I have never left Australia. He has decided that we will travel overseas next year!!
My preferred destination is Europe and Eastern Europe but I feel that New Zealand is a more economical choice… we will see.
