After the dawn sets free,
for the new day I’ll see
from the dark I’ll step away
and begin life with a new day.
Yesterday, your like a gold,
I always dreamed to hold,
yesterday, your like a star
I like to reach above the sky.
Yesterday a flower bloomed,
posy red with the morning dew,
trailed the yesterday’s gloom,
pierced, then mocked by the surly news.
But misty yesterday,
will never be today,
for today will I stand
to the highest of the land.
Now these misty eyes,
no longer for this man,
but for hope that will rise,
And for light that will come.
Oh, this is the hour to wake,
open thy eyes for thy own sake,
forget, forgive and forgo,
rise and smile, then letting go.

This is just another one
“A Poem” might I call it
Or maybe, “lines of fun”
Better still, a pain relief kit!
A kit of expressions
That sets my spirit free.
An invisible book of instructions,
On how to be my minds key
And release the master of visions
locked deep in me.

Heres a poem that I wrote today, which I think is good.
Let the darkness devour you
As the stars empower you
Don’t look back
Do not stop just walk
Don’t look back
The white moon of chalk
Will guide you and your pride
Your guilt is luminescent
Street lights reveal your thoughts
Regarding the battle you fought
You lost this war
You slammed the door
Too stubborn to apologize
Too arrogant to analyze
And as the crickets sing to you the song of the night
You wonder if your decision was wrong or right
Why did you give up?
Why did you give in?
Difficult to live up to
Impossible to win
The air you breathe will tell you what you’ve become
Don’t look back
Don’t come back

there sits the girl
the girl who always cries
squashed against the wall
wishing she’d die
there sits the girl
the letters ready to send
it wouldnt have to be
if she only one friend
there sits the girl
who’s dad hit her with a bar
while he made her do things
alone in the car
to all the other kids-
she wasnt the same
her mother couldnt remember
her only child’s name

Leila, I loved you lightly,
your luscious lips and loose hair.
Leila, I loved you with lunacy
laughing loftily, loving lustily
while we looped the loop
in my vintage biplane.
Leila, you low-down liar!
You went out and lay with another.
You larked and parked in darkened cars,
while I studied all night
at the library,
hoping some day
to be a doctor, priest, or a lawyer.
Leila, you lecherous lesbian,
why didn’t you just tell me the truth
of who you were or thought you might be?
You left me lonely, lying on hardened lava,
cold as the clock that stopped tick-tock-
ing in the lounge where lizards
lick salt and lime lysurgic drinks.
Lynx, you left me fixing sinks
when I dropped out of law school,
I couldn’t cogitate worth a sheet
of legal yellow;
after my crisis
I just got mellow, called you
and said “Hello, Leila; it’s me
who loves you huskily and
longs for you lustily.”
You did the sane thing and laughed
while I thrashed out my inner demons
and prayed to the lyrical lemurs
who led me to temptation
on the other side of sensation,
on the shady side of long afternoons.

i would say that these are
summer-tinged universes colliding
but there was no collision
osmosis:
noun
a gradual, often unconscious process of
assimilation or absorption
is this what you are doing
is this what you are doing?
but: no
i am not losing anything of myself
i am finding new orbits around the
dismal, drab
ordinary moments
i am not sure if i’m in the cosmos any more
i am not sure of much
but the things i am
are faster and surer than the speed of light
