How I did it: Planned using the internet. Booked hotels in advance. Booked Vatican entrance on internet to avoid very long queues. Bought 7-day metro/bus/tram pass in Rome. (very good value) Read how I did it… 2 years ago

How I did it: Well, my cousins live in Scandriglia which is about two hours outside of Rome. I visited them for most of August and every week we came out to Rome (: I've been here before (many many times) but seeing it all over again was just amazing. Read how I did it… 2 years ago

Saving up for the Italian trip for 2009 (or later). Now it has a somewhat date I might be able to concentrate on saving. 4 years ago
I recently got back from my second visit. And though I’ll wait a while before returning I sure hope to return. Last time I did through a coin into the Trevi Fountain. But I didn’t this time because I heard something about the second coin meaning you would marry an Italian, and I’m perfectly happy in my current relationship… ;)
I found great travel advice at 43places.com and for the first time ever I bought a travel guide (, cost around 12 euro). The guide turned out to be the perfect way to understand what we were seeing and how to plan where to go next. I usually love to wonder, but it helps to have some pointers apart from a map. It’s funny though, that our instincts and the guide very often coincided. 5 years ago
I put a coin in the Trevi fountain back in 1963! So I have to return. 5 years ago
