Seriously amazing & disturbing 15 months ago

The Dark Knight goes to an incredible place and it’s hard to separate fantasy from reality especially after what happened to Ledger.

The movie also had me looking hard at myself and my own morals.

This is certainly one of the best movies I have ever seen and my 11 year old son was riveted throughout (except for the kissing scenes).

    1. Worth seeing just for Heath Ledger’s electrifying and seriously creepy turn as the Joker. When he was on screen, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. I was terrified!

    2. I think that they could have lifted a couple of the action sequences out towards the end of the film to make it a bit tighter.

    3. A few too many plot twists – quite often I wasn’t sure what was going on in a scene. There was one sequence involving the rescue of 3 hostages in a building that seemed to go by in a blur of fighting action.

    4. Really liked Aaron Eckhart’s character. It was nice to see a love rival who wasn’t a moron or sleazebag.

    5. Thought that it should have been rated higher than a 12A – some very dark and disturbing bits (at least to my mind)

Awfully bad movie 16 months ago

“Either you die a hero or stick around long enough to be the villain.” – that is the premise of this movie. How is that entertaining or inspiring?
Why did Bruce Wayne’s voice change to a gravelly smoker’s voice every time he put on the Bat Suit? How on earth could a totally damaged Batmobile spit out 2 of its wheels as a motorcycle? Besides the many plot holes, it was a depressing movie, twisted with terrorism for the post-9-11 crowd. And the female lead gets killed?? At 150 minutes it was way too long. Especially kids should NOT see this movie, as it makes Batman into a villain, hunted by the police, and it is too disturbing overall. Even Die Hard 4 was better than this.
