Do seven things a week so I settle in to my new home...

So, maybe I haven’t always done seven, but I feel pretty well settled into our new place. It’s nice here. We have things to fix, but I think I should concentrate on fixing them individually, like our scary, scary closet, which we opened a few times for laughs at the housewarming.

I need to change a lot of addresses, so lately I’ve taken to calling at least one a day. When you have ten calls to make, it’s really frustrating to be on hold over and over again, but if I do one a day and put my phone on speakerphone, I don’t feel quite as frustrated about it.

I really hate the hold music that has ads throughout. [I’m looking at you, TimeWarner Cable and PC Richards.] It’s not cute…

...I now have internet access at my desk! Took long enough, huh?

The biggest one of the last few days is that we got the locks changed and the upper one fixed! I also made a return to BB+B and my boyfriend put up a hook to display his ukulele. We still have a bunch of stuff to go before the housewarming, but I feel like I’m settling into the house and doing more cleaning up after us and less fixing things up.

I’m a little behind on this one, but I feel like I’ve made good progress between yesterday and today…

I bought a hook for the back of the bathroom door so I have somewhere to put my robe. I set up the cable box and Tivo so now we can actually watch things on tv, rather just watching the tv set sit in the corner all lonesome. I also set up the vaccuum, and it’s charging right now, and I found a better place for the recycling, which had just been hanging out in a box in the living room. I also bought one of those battery powered lights for my closet and hung it up properly.

We still have a whole bunch of things to solve about the place, but I feel like we’re starting to settle in. I actually spent some time knitting and watching a movie earlier today, just like old times…

I hung up the shower curtain in the new place and moved what I thought was the last of my droppings out of my old house. We still have a ladder and a wall-hung coat rack over there, but my boyfriend is going to retrieve them tomorrow.
