I can never pass up ice cream!
Ginny is our ‘adopted grandmother’. The family has known her for years and my sister has been around her most of her life. She is always doing ‘grandmother’ things; baking, sewing, buying cute little gifts, etc. They have all lived by one another for the past few years (within in walking distance). SO my sister is always getting lots of yummy baked goods, etc.
Ginny is the best cook I know! Sunday afternoon she invited all of us over for an ‘ice cream social’. She made home made ice cream and we sat around listening to her and my mother talk about their childhoods (she is about 10 years older than my mother).
I had such a great time! Call me a nerd, but I think we should have more ice cream socials! I loved hearing about ‘ice boxes’, milk delivery, manner man (not sure if that is the correct spelling, but I guess the company used to deliver milk and bread and these really wonderful cupcakes), etc.
I hope we all do this again real soon!
