Have a pet duck

But i live in an apartment in BK. They have a poultry shop down the street and I can’t help but wanting to rescue one of the ducks and give him a home. But from what I’ve been reading you should own the duck from a young age and they are hard to take care of. So I feel sad I can’t rescue one. OR can I? 2 years ago

My mother-in-law bought the duck at a fair to fatten up and eat but it had epileptic fits so she decided she wasn’t going to eat it, that’s when my wife and I decided to adopt it.
It nearly died once,it had stopped eating and was on the way out till we discovered it liked eating snails.In the end my wife gave it to some people she knows who have a small farm with other ducks as she thought it would be happy with those of its own species,what happened?Yes,the bastards ate it,which was ironic as one of them already has epilepsy. 3 years ago

i have had some before and they are great. i can’t have any currently do to living situations but when i have a stable place to house them i want to get a male pekin duck and a male swedish blue duck [ both males so there will be no babies ] and build them a nice pen to live in. 3 years ago

My current duck is my second one. I’m still waiting to find out the sex, as it’s only about 2.5 weeks old right now!

Ducks require a lot of special care, unless you’re just going to stock an outdoor pond with them. There’s a lot of stuff on the Web about owning pet ducks, and I would be happy to help anyone if they have questions about preparing, obtaining, and maintaining a pet duck. 4 years ago

While I lived in China, I decided to get a duck as a pet. I found some kids on the street who were playing roughly with him, so I bought him with the shiny gold of a Canadian dollar. I named him BJ. We had some good times, but alas I’m no duck mother, and BJ passed away eventually. It’s for the best I guess, it probably would have been difficult to raise a grown duck in my one bedroom apartment. 4 years ago

When i was younger, i was at my great-grandmothers alot and i got two baby ducks, they were awesome. Popsicle and Ice Cream. They eventually got old enough and they flew the coupe. I miss having ducks. They used our shed as a home they made a nest and everything. 5 years ago

I loved my pet duck.

For some reason, I named him Harvey, and he thought I was his mother. He’d follow me around and sit wherever I was.

One day, he flew away and I never saw him again.
