I went on holiday. Gabito books formed my sole link with the intellectual world in Fakiraki, surrounded as I was by pasty English people with startling regional accents and a certain aptitude for drinking tequila. I make no apology for admitting that this isn’t a desirable attribute in, well, anybody. Call me a snob, but at least I’m honest.
I began with The General In His Labyrinth. My opinion of this is, well, apathetic. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.
Strange Pilgrims was my second challenge of the week. I adored this collection of short stories, just because it tickled each and every creative bone in my being. Hurrah.

I’ve been completely rubbish at this one.
I have, however, read Chronicle of a Death Foretold. In two languages, no less. Damn you, A Level Spanish, I have entirely forgotten you.
I should go to the library on a Gabito hunt.
