I love the Tube. It seriously makes getting around London much easier… trafic there can be a pain. Best of all, it really isn’t much money.

It makes getting around London easy
Some people might like to get a train to work
Or drive in in a Beamer or a merc,
Some guys like to travel in by bus,
But I can’t be bothered with the fuss today
I’m going to take my bike,
Coz once again the Tube’s on strike.
The greedy bastards want extra pay
for sitting on their arse all day
even though they earn 30K .
So I’m standing here in the pouring rain,
Where the fuck’s my fucking train?

They’re all greedy c!!ts I want to shoot them all with a rifle.
All they say is “Please mind the doors”,
and they learned that on the two day course,
This job could be done by a four year old.
They just leave us freezing in the cold.
What you smell is what you get
Burger King and piss and sweat
You roast to death in the boiling heat,
With tourists treading on your feet
and chewing gum on every seat,
so don’t tell me to “Mind the gap”
I want my fucking money back.

If you visit London you pretty much need to experience how easy it is go get around by going on the Tube. Mind the Gap….I wasn’t sure what that meant until I saw for myself…..there is a gap of space between the platform and the train that you have to be conscious of; otherwise you could trip or hurt yourself…..very easy to get almost anywhere….the trains run continuously and we even took our train from Heathrow right to our hotel at Paddington…..took the esclator directly to the Hilton Hotel and never left the Station…how easy can it get.
... when i jumped on the wrong damn line, and ended up having to sweet talk myself out of paying the maximum fine (” whoopsie! Silly little me, i promise not to do it again”)
i soon became a pro at it. rush hour-schmushour!
ideally i wouldn’t like to have to play sardines everyday but I did enjoy it all as a learning experience.
I spent a couple of days in London last summer. I just loved the tube. It’s unlike any other transportation system I’ve ever experienced. I think I have just as many pictures of Angel and King’s Cross as I do of the Tower.
Don’t take the Northern line…Very unreliable. Take the Jubilee line from Green park to Canary Wharf…very modern and reliable.
It’s amazing how a mode of transport can attract such international distinction. The tube is recognised by people all over the world, it is the hub of London as International and National travelers alike pass through to get to their European destinations.
I was in London in 2002 with a group of Americans traveling under the umbrella of an international leadership course. A major part of our time in London was centered around the underground. Memories of lagging suitcases up and down stairs and transferring between lines have left a vivid imprint upon my memory in addition to the t-shirts we bought reading “mind the gap.” This pre-recorded ominous English warning is heard daily by commuters riding London’s Underground Tube. The message was originally intended to warn passengers departing train cars to “mind the gap” between train car and platform.
Somehow the Zen-like phrase “mind the gap” has come to be recognised from people all over the world as one of London’s tag phrases.

Public transportation and I never get along. I somehow always mess everything up. HOWEVER! I absolutely loved the Tube system in London!!! Even an idiot like me could figure out the system (including the map), and I actually found it really plesant. I rode the Paris Metro a few days later, and I really prefered the London Underground. I don’t know why everyone loves the Metro so much.
