July report

So I threw in the towel around the 20th or so. I figured three weeks was long enough to see if I was going to feel any more energetic or less allergic.
I didn’t.
For the record, though I wasn’t trying to lose weight, I did weigh in at 3 pounds less after three weeks of eating lots of whole foods, whole fats, and no refined sugars.
But I think to really feel results from a change in my diet, I’m going to have to give up either wheat or dairy. I’m allergic to grass, and have recently had it pointed out to me that wheat is a grass. It makes sense that eating wheat might make me feel sluggish.

It is the middle of June and I’m still tired as I ever was, and hungry.
I haven’t eaten a single candy bar, doughnut, piece of cake, or fast-food burger, nor have I sipped a soda, milkshake, or frappuccino since the first of June.
I’ve eaten lots of salad, fruit, cheese, homemade whole wheat burritos, an occasional steak, and at one time cooked some salmon.
I know the effects of processed foods are more long-term, but I still thought I’d notice an increase in energy or something.
I am losing my motivation for meals, having trouble coming up with new things to cook, and am frustrated with not being able to order cocktails in bars.
I’m worried I might have to take a different approach if I want to notice a difference in how I feel, like cutting out wheat or dairy, but I do feel better that I’m not eating a bunch of trans-fats or high-fructose corn syrup.
It’s just hard.

Still going

Haven’t eaten anything processed so far, but I’m starting to get sick of salads. Last night I cooked a big thing of brown rice, so that might change things up a bit.
