Ran into a friend of mine from high school. He now teaches snowboarding up at waterville valley. He offered to give me some lessons so I’ll be sure to take him up on that this winter.

How I did it: Went to the mountain with some friends, who are all very good, took half an hour lesson from my boyfriend, then spent an afternoon thrashing it out on the lower mountain the next day I went to the top, the run was hard, but afterwards i really got it and i knew I could do any part of the mountain so i wasnt scared anymore, - its such an amazng feeling!! How I did it: I bought a season pass and went every weekend for an entire season with my boyfriend. He was an excellent teacher. He gave me tips on how to improve. I started out slow. At the beginner slopes. Once I improved, I moved to the next slope. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I visited my family in Arizona for the holidays in 2008 and for New Year's, my cousins and I just decided out of whim to go and try it!I didn't really know what to expect, but i guess i'm one of those people that just gets talked into doing things> I mean, even though I've been wanting to do them, it's not until i get others to go with me that I go and do it too. So we started buying our gear the day before and I knew at… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I first went snowboarding in Jan 2005 for about 4 days and picked it up pretty quickly, but only the basics. Essentially I could make it down the slope if I could point it straight or if I was going backwards so on my toe edge. Then I didn't go for years until Nov 2008, but in a slightly unusual location - Ski Dubai in the Emirate Mall!As I was on a project there I went for a couple of hours 3 or 4 times and picked it up really quickly. I'… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I am a skier and I really wanted to learn to snowboard as well so when my family and I went on a ski vacation for spring break I decided it was time to take lessons. It was reallly hard at first because when you fall it hurts but it was easier than I thought it would be to actually learn you just have to get past the falling everytime and you'll do fine. People say that it really only takes 3 days to learn and that was true for me. Read how I did it…

tried last year…but without success time to learn i own a snowboard i need to know how to ride it!
I want a sport to make me enjoy it. I enjoy falling down and getting back up again… it makes me feel relentless when I can battle the forces of nature and the laws of physics and somehow… someday, I will be able to work with them to accomplish this goal. Plus, you don’t realize how much of a workout you are getting when you are learning and performing a sport, and I like the idea of that. Anything to keep my body moving and my brain happy.
It costs money tho.. uggggggggg

The two nearest places I’d consider learning are Ski Rossendale or Chill Factore in Manchester. Ski Rossendale is a dry slope and a great deal cheaper than Chill Factore which is a fat slope covered in real snow. I was thinking of learning the basics at Rossendale and then heading over to Chill to actually get some snowboarding done. Just cruising around is affordable there but there lessons aren’t. Perhaps I could get a package for Christmas or my birthday? I wanna go on a snow holiday and it makes more sense to learn before I go as opposed to learning when I’m on the mountain.

I did it on the bunny slopes, fell on my ass a bunch of times and just gave up. Why? Because my ass hurt and I hated not doing as well as others. But now I’m older, and would just like to do it before I turn so old I regret it.
Stephie85 A new person as of today. Today is a new day. :)
Bought a book and instructional DVD to keep me motivated until I can afford lessons. :D
I’ve been snowboarding since I was 8, but I want to improve in the terrain park apects =) But overall, snowboarding is awesome!
I skateboard and i want to learn how to snowboard… My friends and me are going to head out to a hill and learn this winter. I’ve been told that if i like skateboarding, i would like snowboarding. It looks cool, and looks better than skiing…we’ll see….
