I enjoy volunteering with two programs offered by Better Basics (Birmingham, Alabama).
One is called the MORE program (Motivators Of Reading Enrichment), and it is a reward program for good 4th grade book reports.
The other is a one-on-one tutoring with 2nd grade students.

It’s challenging, but worth it. I have been tutoring the same student for almost a year, and it’s so great to watch her become more confident with reading and writing. Everyone should do this. 6 years ago
