I ran 6 miles this week. So, I have 118 miles to go and no way will I be able to do that before the summer ends. I guess it is somewhat of an crazy number anyway. But, I proud of myself that my major distraction this summer was riding my bike, as opposed to being very slovenly.

I biked 30 miles this week. No running. I did go for a 4 mile hike. So , I still have 124 miles to go.
I really wish this goal was “bike 200 miles this summer” because that would be easier and more fun. Plus the goal would be accomplished quicker and I could sit in my backyard and drink beer sooner. Anyway, this week I ran 7 miles, I’ve got 124 to go. I also biked 38 miles. Today I tried parking the bike and running immediately without stretching. I figure this way I’ll get used to running with “jelly legs” during the duathalon. It doesn’t feel great, frankly. It’s like running with weights strapped to my ankles.
I have 131 miles to go. I also biked 30 miles last week. I’m feeling pretty good. Need to up the running milage but the bike is so much faster!
I have 140 miles to go. Since my last post, I’ve been going on some long hikes and bike rides. My fiancee and I are thinking about doing a duathalon at the end of the month. I’m going to need to start riding my bike more in order to do the 14 miles required for this race. Hopefully I’ll still make my 200 mile goal, but even if I don’t, I’m thinking the variety in my exercise routine will be good for me.
I have 150 miles to go. Next week I will be in Utah, and it’s 103 degrees there. not sure if I will run.
I ran 3 miles this week. what a wash. so, 167 miles to go. Next week I’ll be back on track.
I ran 13 miles this week. Only 170 miles to go. My milage decreased this week, although in my defense I have to say the weather has been crap. June in the Pacific Northwest is like February anywhere else. I’ve started doing something bad. Just like last time I started running a lot, I’ve started eating a lot. I’m hungrier, of course, but mostly I just tell myself I can eat whatever I want because I’m burning so many calories. Which is actually not really the case. I gained a pound this week.
So- New goal: eat sensibly in conjunction with running. Honestly, I’m not just running for my health. Just like anyone else I want to look slim in my bikini this summer.
I ran six miles today. I ran 2x around Lake Patton. The funny part is I kept passing the same people over and over and they started giving me funny looks. I haven’t run that far since last summer. Frankly, it was painful. The last mile felt like running with anvils strapped to my feet. But I did run 17 miles this week. I now only have 183 miles to go. Yippee.
Last summer I ran a half marathon and felt really good about myself. Then of course, when the weather got bad I got lazy, got busy with school, got addicted to a few too many TV shows and now I feel like a shapeless blob. So, I’m going to try to run another half marathon in September, and before that I plan to run 200 miles while training.
