simplymetA slow process for someone with a NeuroMuscular Disease
I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This makes keeping, and especially growing, muscle tone difficult. “If you don’t use it- you lose it”, as the saying goes.
Over the past 6 years I have worked out using a “peddlar”- a portable “bike” that you can use to strengthen your legs, or put on a table to work out your arms. I have also used free-weights. I get on the floor to stretch and do “yoga”, and I swim regularly during the summer months. This has resulted in a slight growth of muscle tone in my arms and shoulders, my legs, and the rest of my body.
Although I am not where I hope to one day be, I have, I am sure, put on muscle since first creating this goal. Because of this, and in light of the fact that the goal of “putting on muscle” is rather vague, I have decided I have reached this goal. In it’s place, I will write a new SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound) goal. 2 years ago
