Roller coasters can be a blast! There are so many types of coasters that you can find something that appeals to you.
If you’re afraid you’ll chicken out while waiting in line, go FIRST THING in the morning, as soon as the park opens. The lines are shorter, so you’ll have less time to freak out. Also, go with a supportive friend, not someone who will mock you or make you feel bad.
If you’re scared, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone is scared of something, whether they admit it or not. Remember, if you are afraid of something and do it anyway, you’re far braver than the people who have never had to overcome their fear to do it!

Umm…yeah…at least one? Try 7 (in one day).
Wow…this was probably one of the funnest (!!!) things I’ve ever gotten to cross off this list. =) I am definitely not scared anymore. Although I still don’t particularly like watching them fly by while standing in line and thinking about the sheer physical insanity of it all…it’s still totally worth getting over it and just doing it. :P
I would definitely reccommend making your first a steel coaster rather than wooden though. Much smoother, secure feeling ride—especially for your first time. :)
Oh yeah…
THANK YOU, BEN. =) !!!

~ John Lee ~ setting my sights lower so I can set them higher
My first real rollercoaster was the Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Europe – I rode it on opening day of the ride (I was also at the park the day it opened and was called Busch Gardens Williamsburg at the time)
Soemthing about having a double loop rollercoaster as your first ride is pretty daring I think.

My cousin drug me on the “X-Flight” last year before it closed down due to safety issues. It was scary and horrible and wonderful all at the same time. We rode nearly all the coasters at Geauga Lake that day, but this is the one I’m most proud of. I am NOT a roller coaster girl and I made myself do it for my cousin.
TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I just recently did this myself. I was terrified (as you can see in my picture) and I even cried. But I’m glad I did it. It was a good expeience and I will probably never do it again.

I rode my first real rollercoaster when I was in the 3rd grade, it was the Viper of Six Flags Magic Mountain in California :) I highly recommend it.
