play saxophone again

So, I got my sax (alto) back. I can only remember basics. Anyone know of any good sites that’ll help me remember more??

I just got word that my cousin is no longer using my sax so I can get it back whenever I see them next! Wooo!! It might be awhile because they live about an hour away.. but hopefully it’ll be soon! I can’t wait! I hope I still know how to play.. heh.

i picked up the old saxamaphone tonight and played a couple of tunes. those tunes would be in the jungle, mary had a little lamb, and twinkle twinkle lol.

I went out and bought a box of new reeds and cork grease, and now the only thing standing in my way is my own laziness.

I’m looking into possibly joining the community jazz band for some motivation, because I do miss the people.

I played the alto saxophone from 4th grade until 9th grade. I was actually pretty good. I was always first chair and what not in school. In 9th grade I got a social life and school was starting to get harder so I didn’t have much time for it. That’s when I gave it up. It’s been 6 years since I’ve played. That seems like a very long time, but I don’t think it really is. The other day I randomly decided to see if I could still read music. I can. I think playing the sax might be like riding a bike. Whenever I see someone playing the sax, I get strangely nostalgic. I miss the way cork grease smells. I miss the way the reed tastes. It sounds so corny and weird, but I really miss it, hehe. I owned the sax I played, not rented, and my parents gave it to my cousin to play. I want to take it back from him, but I’m not that mean, lol. Hopefully he’ll give it up so I can get it back, heh. Or maybe I’ll just rent one.
