I kind of fell into my job at JPL, but once I landed there I knew that I wanted to work there. There are so many different types of jobs available – obviously engineering is the big field but all NASA centers need IT people, administrators, etc. There are even Fire Departments that need people. So if you really want to do this, find a location, make some contacts and be persistent.
My favorite work involved supporting flight projects and going to KSC. It’s so different than JPL but we had tons of fun while we were there.

I’ll be at NASA for ten weeks this summer. I can’t wait! I’ve always dreamed of working for NASA and having an REU there is a great start!

consider the attitudes of the earliest pioneers of the space program – had they felt that space was a neverland, some unreachable utopia, where would we be today? nothing is impossible! i am very grateful for my work with NASA and plan to continue for many years to come.

Where else can you do rocket science that’s directed to a peaceful mission? Very few places! I’m very grateful for NASA.

I am a Chemical Engineering major. As long as I can survive the difficult course load, this goal might not be that out of reach. There is a summer internship program with NASA that I am defintely going to apply for for next summer.

I started out as an Aerospace Engineer. Found myself filling out a form one day, putting “Software Engineer” in the “occupation” field, and changed my life. Decided that Silicon Valley software was where it was at for me. Don’t regret leaving Lockheed, really, but I regret sticking around the software biz for too long. Now I’m dying to call myself an Aerospace Engineer again, and, to me, the ultimate would be working for NASA. I’m doign everything I can, and getting nowhere with the application/interview process. Man, NASA doesn’t realize how motivated I am, or they’d be kicking down my door and handing me money.
