run a marathon in 2009

Rocket City Marathon – Huntsville, AL – December 2009

when it came to it i hadn’t trained enough to run the whole thing, but the thought of going to stockholm and not running at all was too depressing so i decided to try to get to the 30k mark and then stop. i actually made it to 32k so am quite pleased. was also 29 degrees and really hilly! next time though, definitely.

not been going so well as have had some kind of stomach bug thing and have not been feeling right for over a month so haven’t wanted to push myself. haven’t been running for weeks cos waiting to feel 100%, but it’s hovering around. pretty gutted as had put so much effort in up till then.

ran 9 miles on sat and 14 today.. bit behind my training plan. :-0

did a half marathon today.. by the sea in brighton, it was beautiful. took it slowly and really really enjoyed it. did it in 2 hours 3 mins so quite pleased with that. not fast but was a pace i was really comfortable with. besides, my strategy is survival, not winning first prize! :-)

i did an 11 mile run last night. knackered!

just did a 9 mile jog. while it was snowing. how dedicated.

4 1/2 mile run, with a steep hill included. bloody hell.

just did an 8.6 mile run. very slowly again, but the 5 mile run on weds was bloody fast. only cos i was in a group of people who were all a lot fitter than me and i was too scared to drop back cos i didn’t know the way. going to have a little sleep now!

Did a 7 1/2 mile run on sat and a 5 mile run today. knackered!
