Moi Frey is getting rid of things today

Little Baby Steps  — 5 months ago

I have refined and updated my resume. Working on a new Resume page for the Web site.

Money to invest in my future has become available (check cleared), so today I moved the funds into a savings account, temporarily, until I make the decisions about what specific investments I need to make (equipment, marketing, etc.).

Feels like it’s getting closer. At the same time, I am still sending out resumes. Just in case.

Getting closer  — 7 months ago

I’m becoming more aware of my personal criteria for accepting work. It’s a little bit like a point system. Like, 1 point for a job where I take a senior role or use my high-level skills, or .5 point for having a business philosophy that I like, or .25 point if it pays over $40/hr.

It’s also becoming clearer what interests me most, and my Statement of Interest on my portfolio site reflects this more. I am getting feedback and critiques from various friends and colleagues.

Now I need to prioritize another creative activity for awhile. That will bring me closer to this goal, but I can shift the focus from this goal a bit (and still get there).

but it no longer belongs on this list.

I’m tearing down my “Things” to build them back up…

Was: Find a job I can love  — 9 months ago

I’ve decided to broaden the wording of this goal. I feel more confident about being a free agent lately. Who knows, I may be able to make more money on my own. I just need to market myself well, and I think I’m making good progress in that direction.

To be honest,  — 1 year ago

I’m scared to try. I know what I want to do but am simply paralyzed.

I try to feel the fear but do it anyway, in this case (as in so many other cases in my life).

I just saw someone’s entry that included the well-known quotation/ rhetorical question “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” Wow. My answer is: I would be doing very, very different work than what I’m doing now.

    sigh

    I freelance  — 1 year ago

but not as often as I should. (My last work was just a presentation I had to make of work that I’d done months before…nothing very stimulating or profitable.) Partly because, I rarely love it. When I do work that I love, I feel really alive and joyful and smart and unique and worthwhile.

feelings of flow...  — 2 years ago

    Worth doing!

is something i experience when I coach. I’m starting a couple of fearbuster groups towards the end of july… i just love this work (someone pinch me cuz I still can’t believe it’s work.) my heart absolutely sings with joy when I finish with a client call or just connect with another person on their fearless path and we get the chance to share our experience. I found this quote the other day and I had to put it on my myspace profile because it spoke so loudly to me…

“The joy & feelings of flow you may experience while doing your chosen pursuit are because you are tapping into the universal life force. “

As my career progresses...  — 2 years ago

I realize that i don’t even like what i do. i have steadily progressed and if i wanted to this, i would be right on track. i just have no passion for it. i wish i could work without considering the money but i’m in one of the highest paying industries in the Bay Area. I just want to enjoy what i do and not spend the majority of my waking moments waiting to get ti over with and go home…

I am doing it every day now  — 2 years ago

    Worth doing!

I can work from wherever I want to and I am free to work at 3am if I feel I need or want to do things during the day. Now that I became shareholder is extra incentive and gives me the feeling that I have the future in my own hands again.
