I haven’t sewn anything in a while until today. I started sewing some small bags to fill with goodies for Christmas presents. I’m sewing them by hand…I’d still like to learn how to sew with a sewing machine because I think it will help me complete sewing projects more quickly. I’ve sewn 3 of the bags so far and I still need to sew 6 more…

I need to ask for a sewing machine for x-mas to really start this goal off right…haha…hard to sew without a sewing machine!

Double needle, industrial. 2 years ago

I’m trying to learn how to sew with an industrial machine, next. I’ve made my own clothes, now I’m trying to learn inflatable repair to build skills. Parachute Riggers do some serious sewing, I would like to sew kites or learn to be a rigger for my late life hobby.

Well, my sewing machine that I bought years ago is up and running again! It had sat so long it needed new belts. I used to use it just for little projects, simple projects. Now it’s time to master that machine and build my skills!

This is actually quite easy 2 years ago

Probably a lot easier than programming the VCR.

I bought a new sewing machine a couple of years ago, not having used one for a long time. I just went through the manual and tried everything. all the stitches and used all the feet. etc.

The people in sewing shops are pretty handy with advice about how to do trickie things or solve problems if you need to. I don’t know whether you need to do any courses but if you lack confidence in getting started, then it might not be a bad idea.

Its a pfaff. second hand and its great.

If you haven’t got one already, you don’t actually need anything really expensive to get started. an inexpensive machine will do everything you are likely to want if you are doing dressmaking. but i admit to finding the shopping for a machine rather taxing.

Getting there slowly... 2 years ago

I got a Brother machine last wednesday and spool of thread and a few yards of fabric. Today my teach yourself book arrived. Now I just need to find a spot to set up. Then I can start!!!

sewing machines are way easier than by hand, they’re quick and all you have to learn is how to change thread colors.

cushions and blankets 3 years ago

For the two children’s rooms I want to sew some nice cushions and embroider the two names on them. I also want to make matching blankets. And a little tent for my daughter’s room where she can hide. =)
A lot to learn!
