What are the best ways to learn this?
How to sign language
How I did it: I learned mostly on my own from illustrated books. However, there was a deaf boy on the next block who was a great help to me. Then I eventually took some college courses.
Lessons & tips: The Joy of Signing is a very helpful book with great illustrations.

Ello all! I am a 14 year old deaf and hard of hearing student, and i usually dont like to talk about signing and being deaf, but it is sooo totally awesome seeing so many people taking an interest in sign language and the deaf community! So far i’ve been shunned when it came to using my hands to communicate but it is really amazing to see so many people taking a strong intrest! If anybody – and i mean it! – needs any help learning certain words, sentences, etc, tell me and i would be more than happy to help! In answer to many people’s questions, yes there are several books with signs and how to remember them out there, but they are difficult to find. You can usually find them in a good bookstore, like coles. And for the people who are still in junior and high school – sign language counts as a second language so to hell with french!!
I’ve been told that I will be deaf in 10 to 15 years and have gradual bilateral sn hearing loss (currently have severe hearing loss but hearing aids help). I have an educational dvd but just need to get it out of the drawer!
