Knowledge is fruitless

I want to spend my whole life attaining more knowledge than anyone else. So much that everyone will look on in awe and see me as someone inspiring. But isn’t this just stroking my ego? What is the point of my ego, do I need an ego? Will having the biggest ego make me happy? What will happen to all my knowledge when I die? Am I to waste my life learning only to find that in the end it doesn’t matter? Oh well i guess I need to find out more to get some answers to these stupid questions. Or mabye I just need to die! lol
