I have managed to completely cut soda out of my diet on a regular basis. I will still have the odd soda when we order in lunch at work, but i try to stike to a diet. I do have ice tea when i am out for dinner, but I can’t go cold turkey. I just keep the dinner outings to a minumum (maybe once a month) Water does a better job of quenching my thirst, and it is SO beneficial for me. I just have to keep on keeping on!

How I did it: Years ago I decided not to drink dark sodas anymore, and only drank clear sodas or water. I don't know if that was better than drinking the dark stuff, but about halfway through college I suddenly remembered how much I LOVE Dr PEPPER! And I still do!But I know it's not healthy for me, so I don't buy it to keep at home anymore, instead I drink bottled water or refill a water glass around the house. At work I take a bottle… Read how I did it…

I’ve decided to start with a large glass of water each morning when I wake. I don’t allow myself anything else to drink until I finish the glass. I’m also allowing myself one soda a day at lunch time – the rest of the time, if I’m thirsty it’s going to have to be juice, tea or WATER! I’ve also added a cup of decaf tea before bed. This is day 3.
I may have made it all day yesterday without drinking a soda, instead I drank water and tea with all my meals one glass of tea the refills later I got water.
But today I did drink half a 12 oz coke with breakfast to wake me up to get moving. So i am doing better. I normally drink the whole can.
I mostly need a soday in the morning to help me wake up but my problem is once I have one, I have to have more. So my first goal is to get down to one soda and drink water instead. Hopefully I can do this and it help with the lose 90 lbs.
caranfin is taking it easy.
This was actually really easy for me once i decided it was necessary. I grew up drinking as much pop as i wanted, probably not a good thing, but when i was about 19 the caffeine turned against me and starting making me cramp up whenever i’d drink it. I figured it out pretty quickly that that’s what it was and just stopped drinking anything caffeinated. I used to drink caffeine free Coke and stuff from time to time, but i found that while it wasn’t much different from regular, i just didn’t want it as much as i did cleaner things like juices or water.
I really got started drinking proper amounts of water after the first time i had a massage. The massuese told me to make sure to get 8 glasses after the massage and i first i thought “yeah, ok, sure….” But that afternoon, i found i really was thirsty and i really did crave pure, cool water.
I think the most important thing for kicking the sugary drinks is to just understand that they work against your body. Once you start to listen to your body, you’ll find making healthier choices comes, literally, naturally.
noting better than a nice glass of H2O but soda tastee sooo good sighs but igoing try more water=better skin, less weight, better felling…
I had mostly caffine yesterday..none today (frankly cause I didn’t have any or money to buy any) :P
I’ve been dealing with headaches even having caffine available lately..I’m thinkin it’s more allergy related..but Idk.
I only drank two cups of soda today so far. WOO. Less than the norm. Hopefully I can keep this up.
