How I did it: I had been picking it up on lunch breaks and at my chiropractor appointments. but then i skipped to the thank you's and read that a lot of the happenings in this book have been seriously considered and widely believed by a lot of astronomers and scientists (such as Jupiter and other gas giants having a diamond core, and there being life under the ice of one of Jupiter's moons Europa) and that absolutely fascinated me. And I sat down tonig… Read how I did it…

im finding i need more motivation as usual to keep going with this book. I see new vampire books arising everywhere and it makes me want to stop, its sad though i feel that the over competition of writing a vampire novel is to powerful.
thoughts keep going through my head “it wont be good enough” “its going to be like the others”
its annoying because i have such a want to complete this…
I also have the struggle with writing this as a book or a script. Either way i go with this i have to wait a few years before i can even think about publishing it or putting it into the works because the want for Twilight books and movies is to big at the moment and anything else that comes out at the same time is going to be swept under the carpet. Not that i could finish this book this year or even the end of the next purely because i am that lazy and there is to much to write in such little time.
I want a mentor, someone who will criticize my ideas and help me be a better writer, it seems i have to keep turning back to the imaginary mentors such as John Marsden or Ann Rice and reading their books so i can be inspired…
thats why i have on my bed 7 books i want to complete over the next few weeks so i can use this as motivation. I have one book thats called ‘the writers little helper’ which gives you tips to being a better writer, as lame as it sounds i think i can use a bit of it.
sigh its unfortunate that i cant sit myself down and just write, i suppose with this book in particular or should i say ‘idea of a book’ is all in my head therefore its harder, i have it all visualised in my head – every detail and thats so hard to put down into words sometimes. Purely because some of it that is visualised would be, if in a movie, special effects grrrr.
its all frustrating really.

I’m Barley 12yrs old and i am witting a book. when i publish it i hope people like it. Its mainly
for teenagers and it’s a romance
My good friend and I wrote a book together. It was a fast process. We just tag-teamed the whole way through. We accomplished it in about 6 months from June 08-Dec.08. But now we have it and it’s been edited but we need to get it published! We are stuck here. We have the book finished sitting in our hdd, waiting to be published. It’s such a terrible feeling. On the positive though it is breeding patience in us. I hope we can get the show on the road to have it done by the end of this year.
This is the bit I always find most difficult. Not that writing the story was easy!
This will be the 5th book I’ve written and I always detest this part. I’ve now completed the story (70,000 words) and it’s time to start slogging through it to improve it little by little, producing the blurb and the synopsis.
Good luck, everyone.

I had lunch with a friend today, whose book Bone Tiki is just being launched. It all seems somewhat surreal & I am truly thrilled for him!
I’m about a third of the way through my first draft, which is more than I’ve ever got.

I have been inspired by and good idea of the voice and tone I want this story to have. Which is great because it is really helping me keep my style consistent, and making the writting come out better. It is still really slow going. I only have 1900 words (according to ms word), which is hardly anything, but I hope to continue to see that number grow. Starting is the hardest part but, with an outline and a voice, and my first 6 pages, I done found that.

The question is, which book to finish! I have so many ideas that I can’t keep up with them! This is SO hard. I have to get them all out on paper someday, I guess. I’ll keep notes about them and maybe by the time I’m 80 I’ll have finished one. Trying to stay positive.
