    i've decided 3 years ago

that some re-wording, re-tooling and revising of this list, specifically of the long-term goals, is fine as long as it’s not excessive. i think that i’m also going to periodically try to leave the list at fewer than all 43 things. my tendency is to hurry up and fill in the blanks after i’ve done something and i think it’s making me a little crazy. so, a little fune-tuning here and there now and again: o.k. not having 43 things all the time: o.k. leaving room for specific goals of both short-, medium- and long-term length: absolutely necessary.

the problem is 3 years ago

there are so many long-term goals that i would like to include here, but there simply isn’t room for all of them as well as the more specific/quantifiable things i need to get done as well. i would try to narrow them down, summarize them in a handful of goals, but that doesn’t really do each individual goal justice. i may just have to revise and refresh this list periodically and see what happens. i don’t think there is really anything wrong with this list evolving, as long as i don’t go crazy doing it.

i think i need to make room for stuff 3 years ago

that i can accomplish in the short-, medium- and long-term. if all i have on here is long-term stuff, i’ll probably get unmotivated and distracted.

    two things 3 years ago

    1) i think i need goal consolidation. there are a lot of goals on here that are similar, with slight variations, and could probably stand to be revisited as to what their original versus current intent is

    2) i feel compelled to do a george costanza and do the opposite of what i feel is right. go against my instincts. this could be all wrong, but at the very least, it sounds like a good idea to try things from a different angle for a change.

    Realistic goals 4 years ago

I read a Calvin and Hobbs the other day. Calvin asked Hobbs if he could have one wish what would it be. Hobbs wanted a peanut butter sandwich. Calvin told him how absolutely crazy that is that he should have wished for a billion dollars or something. Next scene Hobbs eating a peanut butter sandwich and saying I got my wish how bout you. Made me think of these goals. These goals are great for living by but I may need to either set goals that are more achievable, less general, more concrete, less abstract, or atleast break them down into smaller easier goals that each work towards one of my major goals. I’ll probably work on it later. Oops that will break one of my other goals of “Stop Procrastinating”. Hehe.
