reduce my belongings

Does having the removalists drop by to collect a big pile of empty boxes count as reducing your belongings?

to either charity, or my fat cats vet’s office. At least when you start to unpack boxes, you come across all of those random pieces you were too tired to even think about while packing. :-)

More board books.
Some beautiful cloth books for bubs.
Two bags of plastic shopping bags for recycling.
Numerous kids videos gone to childcare.
Bag of dinosaur toys also gone to childcare.

Forgot to pop charity items into car to put them into charity bins. Will hopefully remember to do this tomorrow.

I’ve managed to start a few different piles of stuff to go on to new homes.

More clothes to say bye bye to. Same again with more books, plus a pile of old kids videos to go, some great toys that aren’t played with any more, and a few more bits and pieces.

Today I managed to pass on about ten litres of kids paints in various bottles of colours. A crocodile toy for my little one’s class to experiment with, and a pile of balloons.

Still more sorting tomorrow, am looking forward to it a little more now, hope to get a lot of sorting done then.

Some clothes for charity. A few of my little one’s things to pass on once more.

Will also be taking off a couple of bags of paints, toys, and other things to childcare asap, so that I can reduce our clutter once again.

Have also finally decided to part with my absolute favourite items of clothing to pass on to a friend. I’m never going to fit in them again and hope that they’ll be happily put to use again there.

1. A big bag of clothes that my little one has outgrown. Waiting to be collected by my brother for my niece.
2. Old computer modem.
3. Four compartment metal locker still to be collected.
4. Some excess tools and materials from my old studio.
5. Lots of tid-bits and more document shredding.
6. One old but good Christmas tree going to charity.
7. Some more toys to charity, friends little one’s, and childcare.

A pretty good week so far. :-)

1. Two big bags of shredded paper – gone to pet shop for recycling.

2. Two big bags of out-grown toys – sorted for both charity & passing on to little friends of the family.

3. 23 pairs of old earring stock that I made long ago – about to be passed on to my little one’s childcare staff for them to choose as they please.

4. Big pile of phone books – gone to recycling

5. Have culled 47 board books from my little one’s library – to go to her little cousins. Will cull more as I find them.

Still have to sort through old computer stuff & art materials to see what goes on to freecycle, and what goes elsewhere.

Not too bad if I must say so…....

an opportunity to have a mini burst of action on this goal. Quite a few old computer accessories to be passed on. Still need to finish the last of my current pile of shredding to be packed off to the local pet shop for recycling.

Hopefully I’ll get to do a bit of this plus more…...

again tonight. Have disposed of some items that weren’t worth passing on to anyone, and have started sorting out the books that my little one’s fast out-growing. These will go to her smaller cousins next time we see them.

I have to figure out how I can schedule more time to focus on this some more.

I want to purge my belongings so that they only include things I really want and need. This is not a small task as my house and garage are FULL.
