Monday… I start again Monday. Monday’s my do-over day. Was a total carnivore in Europe. I really feel better when I don’t eat meat.

Progress... 17 months ago

Have stopped eating meat.

Have been going to the gym pretty regularly. Last week was my best week in a long time. I went 6 out of 7 days! I feel good, although my diet could be better… I am working on going vegan, but I am not doing it cold turkey. And I should eat more fruits and veggies.

But what’s important, and what I am trying to keep in my mind, is that I have done a lot of good things for myself. I’ve stopped trying to go on any special or trendy diets… I feel incredibly relieved about that. Like I’ve said before: one step at a time.

Doing better 2 years ago

Almost daily (weekends are sometimes skiped) I do stretching and push-ups and set ups before going to bed. I try to walk as much as possible. I want to go on the mornings before winter gets here. Though this week it was rainning when I wanted to go, and I’m not extreme enough to go when it’s pouring! Anyway. I also try to sleep more and eat better. I’m not aiming for a diet but just to avoid the extra snack when I’m not hungry but bored, or the extra serving that’s just greed ;)

I find that if I exercise, and I mean really exercise, that it is is much easier to eat healthy. I work 34 hours a week and I commute to school twice a week, all day, an hour to an hour and a half away, so I don’t have much time on my hands, but this is very important to me. I’ve gotten so out-of-shape since February…I am ready to take control of myself again. Exercise, for me, is key to success in all other areas of taking care of myself. I deserve to be taken care of. :)

I’ve just spent the last month counseling others on how to do this, yet I can’t seem to do it for myself. Time is a constraint in my life, but somehow, I’ve just got to grab some initiative and toughen up. Losing 30 minutes of sleep probably won’t kill me; ignoring this in the long run will. I’ve just got to remember that when my alarm clock goes off at 4:30am…

Exercise 4 years ago

1) I want/need to exercise at least 20-30 minutes every day.
2) Eat more veggies.
3) Keep food diary.
4) Schedule “me” time into every day.
5) Schedule planning time into every day.
