My boyfriend is from Pakistan. And I really want to talk to him in his language. And he wants to talk to me so he has to learn German :-)
How to learn Urdu
It made me
accomplished 
"It was a worth while experience for me because I feel like I am that much closer to my heritage."
How I did it: I've always known Urdu since my entire family (both direct and extended relatives) speak it as their first dialect. However, I was finally able to learn how to properly read and write the script through a class in college.
