Scratch paper has been my best friend in every case of boredom I’ve had. An hour later, it usually consists of single eyes, stick people, and smiley faces.
They may look pretty, but I really want to learn how to draw details in clothing, people, places, etc.
So instead of eyes, stick people, and smiley faces, I’d much rather want to end the day with my paper illustrating a beautiful city :D

I usually just doodle on scratch paper. I want to learn more.

My ultimate goal is to be some sort of a manga artist but to do that, I need to improve my drawing skills on human figures and facial expressions in particular. I think it helps a bit that my current course of study includes human anatomy so I hope it will not go to waste. I plan to start by refering to stock photographs that can be easily found online and copying the different human poses and expressions to improve my skill. =D

I’m trying to get into animation, but I’ve got a ways to go to improve how I draw. I’ve been trying to draw everyday… Well, really mostly just tracing established styles, since when I get into the industry, I’m going to have to adapt to other people’s designs anyway.

It’s been 6 years since the last time I drew something, and recently I had this urge to start and draw once again, so I thought about improving skills in anime and manga drawings sometimes soon (which is maybe after I’ll finish my Japanese and around the time when I’ll start with C++).

Pauper is trying to sort her life out

I was wondering for a while how I might incorporate drawing everyday into my routine without taking time away from my daughter and I’ve finally figured it out!!

Draw during lunch!!

I can find a quiet room at work to focus and tackle this goal without adding to my already long day! I hope it works out – I’ll find out in a week.

Oh and I found another option for structuring this goal – sheldonsartacademy.com. It’s alot of figure drawing but I love his style.

I can doodle, I can color, but I want a finished piece, that somebody’s gonna go “You drew that?”.

There is no way I could even consider leaving my current profession (which I love btw), but I really need some sort of structure for this goal. After perusing wetcanvas.com, I’m thinking (OCA) is the way to go. It’s correspondence, I can pay in installments and it’s relatively affordable (I guess). Since I already spent most of my “me” money this month, I’m hoping I can start before the end of February 2009.
