Use my savings account

so i got paid today and actually made a deposit into my lonely savings account. now i just have to keep telling myself that the money in there is only for REAL emergencies….

I have had my savings account for a year and a half and have never had more than a $0.01 balance—this is because you only have to keep one cent in the account for it to remain open and considered active.

The reason that I’ve never had more money in the account is because I live in New York: I came here with no savings, went into debt to make the move happen, and have continued to live from pay check to pay check since setting up shop in Brooklyn.

The reason this goal is on my list is so that I have an active reminder to make an effort to save money… It really isn’t that hard to do, and even if I just start put in $5 a week, eventually, that will add up to something.
