not the first thing... 2 months ago

not the first thing that came to mind. i was watching tv earlier and started thinking about david faustino and how it would be awesome to sleep with him. then came on here just to list that, then figured i should list something that would really define what i want to do with my life First. like the most important thing. i thought of being a secretary, then a flight attendant, then remembered why i wanted to become a flight attendant: the travel : )

oh, but to make this more specific (so i can someday mark it off the list), i would like to ‘travel’ in the sense that i get to go somewhere new, explore, and spend the night at a place other than my current residence. and by ‘a lot’, i mean that i would like to do this once a month for a year.

Cebu 7 months ago

For the first time, i’ll be going to cebu tomorrow on my own. I’ve been there for how many times already but never gone there alone. I am hoping that my trip will be safe and things will be better the whole time i am there.. :) My first time moving out real from my parents house… i’ll be missing everyone in my hometown, my room, my pc, my friends, my family and relatives…i will miss everything here for sure.. but i am excited to embrace cebu as well.

Where to begin? 18 months ago

I suppose travel might be a little difficult to afford during college and then med school, but I fully intend to travel as much as possible. And of course I’ll be with the love of my life. :) I want to go to every continent and more than that but really explore when I go places. No brief visits. I want the full experience complete with speaking the language and eating the food. I’m really excited about this.

The term travel "a lot" is certainly subjective. 2 years ago

I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing 3 continents (North America, Europe, and Asia), 8 countries (U.S., Mexico, Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Japan), and about 30 states in the U.S.

I’m a 40 year old, middle-class married mom, who works full-time in California. So for me, traveling “a lot” is getting out of the U.S. for a couple of weeks every year, out of California between 5 and 10 times a year, and adventures in California as frequent as possible.

A lack of money, time, or a traveling companion seem to be common excuses for not seeing the world. They don’t have to be…

Because my husband and I are not independently, or dependently, wealthy—our key to traveling “a lot” is minimizing our travel expenses wherever possible. We use the dictionary’s definition for frills; “Something that is desirable but not a necessity.” to our travel advantage. Clean and safe is my only non-negotiable criteria, which can get a little tricky abroad. Great resources for budget travel are “Frommer’s” and “Lonely Planet.”

We make travel a priority. Our motto is “It’s a good day when you show up to work sleep-deprived because of a flight on a red-eye.” (Our motto excludes business travel.)

If you don’t have a companion to travel with, and you’re afraid or feel uncomfortable traveling alone, I would add “travel alone” to your list of 43 things!
