Steve & Barry’s, size 8 short, medium rise flare leg. They’re great! For once I don’t step on the bottoms of my pant legs because they’re too long… you can actually see my shoes! AND the best part was that they were under $15. I recommend Steve & Barry’s for everyone! They have sizes up to 18 or 20 I think, and as small as 0.

I found the perfect pair summer 2005 and have worn them nearly every day since then. Yet the knees just blew out recently and no matter how many times I wash them, they smell like sweaty crotch, to be frank. I don’t have a problem with wearing the same jeans everyday—(I go to a college where everyone looks homeless), but I have a problem with smelling like crotch (though it could just be something only I can smell, my husband says he can’t smell it) and I have a problem with ripped out knees. I have bought maybe 10-12 pairs of pants since then, and none of them fit well. Too big in the wrong places, to tight in the wrong places. Today I went to Kohl’s and tried on a medium wash, L.E.I. brand bootleg cut in size 3 short (thank you, vanity-sizing) and the dimensions are perfect. I’m so in bliss right now, Joseph Campbell owes me a handshake.

Well, they’re not quite perfect, but I found a pair of jeans I like more than any I’ve found in years: Sweet N Low (Lucky Brand). The 2% spandex pair is great. If only they weren’t quite so expensive!

I think it is a sad state of affairs that I have had this goal for years and yet… still no perfect jeans.
OK jeans yes, perfect no.
