I put this off for way too long! It was fast and so easy! I was wearing a 36B.. should be a 34C. So much more comfortable!!
How I did it: I went to VS and asked "do you still do fittings?" The lady said "of course" and asked what size I was wearing now. I told her I really wasn't too sure, but probably a 36B. She sized me and I should be wearing a 34C. Most women are wearing the wrong bra size, so I figured it couldn't hurt to find out. VS was polite and unobtrusive. I could've been there for a shoe sizing. It wasn't awkward at all. Just do it!
Lessons & tips: Just go. Best case- you're wearing the right size already.
I went early on a Monday when the mall had just opened. Less people, and the staff was working on stocking and easily accessible.

Turns out I was wearing at 36B when I should have been wearing a 34C.
Whudda thunk?
I couldn’t resist…sorry!
I did this a few months back and I swear, I didn’t know that bra sizes went to letters like LL, or something crazy like that!
The ladies in my local shop started calling out number and letter combinations that sounded more like a Bingo game than bras being fitted – including my own – but you know, after I got over the weirdness of the all – and the initial few days of discomfort, as the band felt like it was cutting me – I settled into my new fits nicely.
I LOVE the way I look in my clothing now – in fact, getting fitted has nearly had the effect of loosing 10 pounds and gaining a new wardrobe!
I saw a programme the other day that revealed around 70% of women are wearing the wrong size bra so I’m curious to see if I make up part of that startlingly large percentage. It’s also a handy excuse to treat myself to some nice new lingerie and that always puts me in a good mood…
VS never measures me correctly. Once they were off by three cup sizes. I gave up shopping there around the time I outgrew their meagre selection of cup sizes, anyway.
The only discouraging part is how my size keeps going in the same direction and I keep having to buy bigger and more expensive pieces of equipment just to keep my stuff in place.
we unknowingly change sizes with some regularity. i think getting fitted once a year should be a goal. and please don’t go to vickie’s – they usually don’t know how to do it correctly. when i got fitted for the first time, i went from thinking i was a 34c to being informed that i really need a 28dd-e! although it’s a real pain to have a size that no where in the us carries, it’s sooo nice to wear bras that fit! (well, almost fit anyway. even the europeans don’t have much too choose from.)
i did it. it was simple. 10 minutes of my time and now i have 4 new comfortable bras. you really do notice a difference

I bought a bra this week, without getting fitted, and it doesn’t fit properly. Why do I keep doing this?

Maybe I should change this one to “go shopping without children”, because that’s the only way this goal will ever get done.
Rebecca is figuring it out.
I went to Bare Necessities in Springfield, MA (www.barenecessities.com) and the woman there was so helpful. They say most women wear the wrong size and I was no exception. Should I post the numbers here…? Hmm…
I thought I was a 38B but really I’m a 36D. Hard to believe I was that off! I spent $80 on 2 bras, and am throwing out the ones I wear now.
I am so glad I finally got this done!

pandorathecat asks,
“Where should I get measured? I don't even know where to do this kind of thing, but I've NEVER found the perfect bra...and I've tried. I think I'm a 34DD, but I can rarely find that size to try on, even...and I've never been professionally measured.”
